Teen Arts is a free afterschool arts program for teens in grades 9–12 living in Erie County. Classes take place in our studios at 650 East Ave in Erie and are taught by professional artists using professional equipment and materials. Students of any skill level are welcome.

Afterschool Teen Art Programs

We offer two different afterschool programs, free for students living in Erie County during the school year.

Afterschool arts classes for teens looking to try out some beginner friendly project-based learning. Great for building foundational art skills and exploring new creative mediums.

A positive social space where teens choose their own art projects, have access to professional equipment and learn from professional artists.

Workshop Wednesdays

Grades 9 to 12 | Wednesdays | 4:00 to 7:00 PM | NO COST

Register Once. Explore Three Workshops.

How It Works:

1.Register once.

One registration covers the full Workshop Wednesdays program.

2.Choose one workshop
each cycle.

Each cycle will feature two to three workshop options. Students select one workshop to participate in for the full three week cycle.

3.Explore Something new.

When the next cycle begins, a new selection of workshops will be available and students will choose again.

4.Experience three Workshops.

By the end of the semester, students will have participated in three different workshop experiences.

5.Finish your work.

The final weeks of the semester will provide additional studio time for students to finish projects and prepare work to share.

Workshop selections will take place in person at ECAT. Space in individual workshops may be limited.

Teen Art Club

Grades 9 to 12 | Thursdays | 4:00 to 7:00 PM | NO COST

Be Part of Something Creative.

Teen Art Club is ECAT’s open studio for high school students. Come make art with other creative people.

Every Thursday, you get full access to ECAT’s studios, materials, equipment, and teaching artists. Try new materials. Work on your own ideas. Make art with friends. Learn new skills. Get help taking your work further.

Sharing your work is a big part of Art Club. You’ll talk about what you’re making. You’ll see what other students are working on. You’ll trade ideas. You’ll build confidence sharing your work with others.

It all leads up to our Student Art Show on December 16. That’s when we turn ECAT into a full art exhibition, showing off everyone’s work from the semester. As the show gets close, we’ll pick artwork, finish projects, and get everything ready to display. Together, we’ll create a show we’re proud to share with friends, family, and the community.

You don’t have to call yourself an “artist” to join. Just bring your ideas, your curiosity, and a willingness to make something.
