ECAT’s Teen Arts program will offer free 2-week summer camps from June 20 – July 1, 2022. Students living in Erie County and just completed grades 5 – 8 are eligible to attend.

Get Creative This Summer

2 weeks of summer camp. What will you make?

Week 1

Ceramics

Use clay to make animals, cups, or anything else you can imagine.

Video + Photo

Learn to make movies using professional cameras, lights and computers.

Animation

Animate your own characters using a computer.

Printmaking

Make your own designs then use ink to create a gazillion copies.

Week 2

Video + Photo

Learn to use professional cameras and lights to take amazing pictures of people and places.

Clothing Design

Design your own clothing by adding custom graphics.

Digital + Traditional Painting

Learn paint using watercolor, ink and acrylic. Then learn how to paint on the computer using a tablet.

Camp Details

Students entering grades 6, 7, 8, 9 and living in Erie County are eligible to attend.

There is no cost to attend camp.

Camp is limited to 40 students. Registration is first come, first serve.

Camps take place in the ECAT art studios, located in the ECAT Building.

Lunch is provided at 12:15 PM

Art class starts at 1 PM and ends at 3 PM

Registration opens Monday, May 2nd at 9 AM

Registration is first come, first served.

Each week, four different class topics are offered. When registering, pick your top two choices for each week. The student will be placed in one of those classes.

For example:
Week 1 the following classes are offered: Ceramics, Video Production, Printmaking and Animation. Alex chooses the two classes they most want to take: Ceramics and Video Production. During week 1, Alex will be placed in either Ceramics or Video Production.

Frequently Asked Questions

I just finished 8th grade. Can I attend summer camps? 

Yes! If you completed 8th grade in June 2022, you are eligible to attend.

I am starting 6th grade this fall. Can I attend summer camps? 

Yes! If you completed 5th grade in June 2022, you are eligible to attend.

Will lunch be provided? 

Yes. The YMCA is providing free lunch to students attending camp. Students can arrive at 12:15 PM to eat lunch then start camp at 1 PM.

Is transportation to and from ECAT provided? 

No.
